Charles Dilbeck Home Tour and Book Signing

Wednesday, February 11, 2009 at 6:00pm Preservation Dallas will be hosting a tour of a Charles Dilbeck Home along with a discussion and book signing of Preservation Dallas' new book "Dallas Landmarks."

Charles Dilbeck was a local Dallas architect with a wide ranging style. If you have ever driven around the neighborhood behind the Old Monk you have driven by multiple Dilbecks. The Architect and I used to live in an international style home down the street from the Old Monk.

More info about the tour and discussion here.

Club Dada and the listening room

Anyone who has been to Club Dada might have had the opportunity to peek over to the room next door which is also owned by the club. I myself have seen Irving, TX born David Garza play there on occasion. According to the Dallas Observer's DC 9 at Night Blog, Club Dada is in the process of renovating the space to create a 100 person capacity acoustic space. What is interesting to note is that local Dallas musician and producer Salim Nourallah will be the booking agent. Can't wait to see what this new venue will bring to Dallas.

More details here.

Mid-Century furniture for sale on Craigslist

Since we have acquired our new dining room table, the Architect and I are selling our retro 50s dinette table.

We have it up for sale on Craigslist here.

Update: The dinette has been sold.

We are also selling our Charles Pfister-style sofa and club chairs. I hate to see these go, but we just don't have room for them anymore due to new acquisitions over the holidays.

The sofa and club chairs are also on Craigslist here.
