Fredericksburg, TX Re-Cap

Over the next few days I will be talking about the long weekend the Architect and I took down to Fredericksburg, TX.

First up is lodging. We stayed at the Roadrunner Inn on Main Street in downtown Fredericksburg.

Here are some pictures of our room.

Our room was basically a loft with the king size bed you see here, a sitting area and small kitchen.

A view back towards the front door and the kitchenette with concrete countertops.

Tomorrow a discussion of our favorite wineries!

Weekend Plans

The Architect and I are heading down to Fredericksburg for food, wine, and a wedding (yay Matt and Amber!). If we were in town this weekend, these are our top picks:

1. White Rock Homes Tour - the only homes tour in Dallas that focuses on mid-century modern. They will also have LEED certified new built home.

2. Taste some new wines and learn from the pros at the Dallas Wine and Food Festival.

3. Dust off that tux, put on your fancy dress and head to the Dallas Museum of Art for their Annual Art Ball.

Angela Adams Green Collection

Today on Earth Day Angela Adams launched her green collection of rugs, fabric, and wallcoverings. I have my eye on this fabric here to recover some chair cushions.

Check out the collection here.

Russel Wright American Modern Line Reissue

If you are a fan of mid-century modern design you have surely heard of Russel Wright. In fact, your parents or your grandparents probably owned a few pieces back in the day. Hopefully you were smart enough to snatch them up before they went into the garage sale.

Well if you didn't inherit any from mom and dad, here is your chance to own some of the iconic pieces in their original colors. LA-based Bauer Pottery is re-issuing pieces from the American Modern Line. Check out the line here.

More about Russel Wright here.

Tip of the hat to Apartment Therapy.

1. Bill, the owner of Bill's records turns 65 on Friday. The store is having a big party for him starting at noon. Live bands all afternoon, including one of my faves, Salim Nourallah. Info here.

2. Head down to Deep Ellum Saturday night for the DADA gallery walk. Info here.

3. If art isn't your thing grab your Snuggie and head over to the Quarter Bar in Uptown for a fundraiser for The Stewpot, a resource center for homeless and at-risk people in Dallas. What next, a Sham Wow! car wash?
